Off Topic. Let's have a little fun. I'm not one to believe in these things, but check out the Chinese Birth Calendar. It's said to be 99% accurate in predicting the gender of your child. It was correct for my daughter and my wife says it's correct for every one that she tested with it. To view instructions on how to use it just click on the 'note' in the top right corner. Click the button in the bottom left corner and pick 'Fullscreen' to read it better.

So tell me - is it correct for your children?

Comments (80)

Chad's Gravatar It was 75% accurate for me. 3 out of 4. At first I thought it was 0 out of 4 but then realized it wants the month the baby was conceived.

Christopher Bradford's Gravatar 33% (2 for 6).

todd sharp's Gravatar Amazing. I blog about this and a day later I'm #3 in google for the search term 'chinese birth calendar'

Sarah's Gravatar I was 25 when I got pregnant in the month of January, and sure enough, I had a baby girl! I'm going to try to use the Chinese calendar with my next child in hopes of having a boy!

raht's Gravatar 100% (1 of 1)!

amy's Gravatar every one i have tested is right on (neice, nephew, and my tow children, my brothers, and me). i am hoping it is right for the bun in my oven. i found some a little confusing, but it is really accurate if you use the chinese age and lunar chart. i can't remember which website, which makes sense because the chart was developed using those terms of measurements!

sweet's Gravatar It worked for my boy, but some of the calendars on google say different things. One says if I am 26 and get pregnant in Feb i will have a girl and the other says i will have a boy! So I am becoming skeptacle!

Sandi Brace's Gravatar There are two version of this calendar--one is 100% correct for my three children--this one uses the month of conception and the mom's age at DELIVERY. The other uses the mom's age at CONCEPTION and this is 100% wrong. I believe that this is the chart more commonly used, as evidenced by some of the above comments.

becky's Gravatar It is not correct for any of my three boys, maybe if i want a girl i need to follow this calendar and conceive when it says it will be a male!

3boyz4me's Gravatar Not right for my 3 boys either! Oh well, it was fun trying!

Amy's Gravatar This was accurate for my son and also for everyone I know who has kids. We "used" a total of 12 pregnancies. The chart was only wrong 1 time, and I don't know if it's "wrong." It said my sis would have a boy, but she actually had boy/girl fraternal twins. I used the chart that uses the month of conception and the Mom's age at DELIVERY!

grace's Gravatar So not right for me. Accordinging to the calendar I should have 3 sons but I have 3 daughters!

Miss M's Gravatar It was completely 100% accurate with both of my children, 1 girl and 1 boy. I had one sister-in-law who swore by it -- she has 4 children, all conceived after consulting the Chinese calendar to find out what month to conceive a certain gender. It was right on each time -- she had girl, boy, girl, boy, exactly as planned! I have another sister-in-law who is pregnant right now that all but 1 Chinese calendar states is having a boy, yet she has had 2 ultrasounds where they said it was a girl. Either the Chinese calendar is wrong this time, or she is in for a big surprise in July!

todd sharp's Gravatar We're having a boy this time around but it said girl. Which is cool - one of each. Enough for us!

Kate's Gravatar Wow! It worked for everyone I tried! Myself, I was 23 when I got pregnant in march...and I had a little boy!

liz's Gravatar It was wrong said I was having a girl but its a boy.

E Erickson's Gravatar I don't believe this calendar is accurate. It was opposite for my friend with both of her kids and it was right with my daughter, but said that my son was also supposed to be a girl. This is using age at conception. For age at delivery it is wrong for both of my kids.

sekhar's Gravatar i want to know what age is used for calculation i.e my wife date of birth is 23 nov 1976 .so in the year 2007 it is 31 or 30 yrs

sekhar's Gravatar I want to know the age which is used for calculation i.e my wife date of birth is 23 nov 1926 whether age is 30 yrs or 31

Sheila Grace's Gravatar I have 4 children and it has been correct all 4 times, I am pregnant with the fifth, we'll see.....

Haw's Gravatar I believe this chart is purely statistics. Nowadays with the government having details of their populations. It is very easy to rebuild this chart again.

Once in Uni. I made a small program base on this chart to predict the gender of a person. The input is your birthday and your mom's birthday. Amazingly almost 90% correct.

Obvious mistake if you got twin with different gender.

RIA VERGEL's Gravatar NOT TRUE FOR MY 2 BOYS BUT THERES ANOTHER CHART ONLINE THAT IS CORRECT

chaitanya's Gravatar can any one of you send me the chinese calender which need's the conception month and mom's age at delivery.

RIAVERGEL's Gravatar SORRY CORRECTION! IT IS TRUE FOR MY 2 BOYS. I CALCULATED NOT BY THE MY AGE AT BIRTH BUT MY AGE AT CONCEPTION. IM HAVING MY 3RD BABY HOPING ITS A GIRL THIS TIME I WILL UPDATE THE RESULTS AFTER MY ULTRASOUND. SO EXCITED!

LYNSEY DOOTSON's Gravatar the chinese chart was accurate last year for all my 6 friends who were pregnant i was amazed, i already had 3 boys and was pregnant with number 4, the chart said a girl but i had a boy, i was the only one that was wrong so 6 out of 7 isn't bad, i'm pregnant again and it says girl again maybe it will be right this time!

Ann's Gravatar Does anyone know what age you are supposed to use if your birthday is in the month you conceived? My birthday is July 13 and my Trying time was July 6-9. Happily, I am pregnant, yet curious as to what the Chinese Birth Chart predicts for gender. I read that if your Trying time is in the last week of a month, you should use the next month to predict the gender. However I can not find any details on what age to use if your birthday is in the same month you conceive. If your birthday is a week before you conceived, what age should you use? If I use the age I will be when I give birth, it is a different gender then if I use the age I was when the baby was conceived. I do realize that this chart is just for fun and no matter the babys gender; I really just want a healthy, happy baby. But if anyone has any thoughts or experience on this, I would love to hear it!

Cheers, Ann

kelly's Gravatar this is to ann who posted on the 25/7/07. my friend just had her baby and it was a girl, she fell pregnant in the month of her birthday, which was also a girl on the chinese pregnancy calendar. i have tested the calender on myself and other friends and so far it has been correct.

tish's Gravatar 2 for 2! Its amazing how many people were right. I asked my neighbors! All but 1 was wrong!

tish's Gravatar Sorry, I meant....All but 1 was right! ;)

muthuselvam's Gravatar i have doubt abt this calender. when its says to compare the age and conceived month..which you will take it...? the completed age or running age.....
for ex my wife's birthday is nov 12th 1982. does it mean 25yrs or 24yrs...?

kelly's Gravatar my friend fell pregnant after her birthday so all we did is go to that age and the month box on the calendar and went from there. it usually works on the age you are so if you have a birthday just go to that age.

muthuselvam's Gravatar my friend kelly...still i don't understand..please clarify my again with an example....

mommy's Gravatar Mine was accurate when i was 20 i concieved in March and i had daughter.

pat's Gravatar oh my god!!!!!
I found this calender a few months ago and everybody that i test was right!!!but then i lost the web page and never found again!!!And here it is!!!i test with 6 persons and was absolute right!!Coicidende???maybe

Jack's Gravatar 2 kids, 1 wrong, 1 right...sounds like a sham to me. The odds are 50/50 each time, you get 1 right and people are convinced it works. More than 1? All the more proof. :-/

How could someone 700 years ago have made something this accurate when nobody today can do it? And of all places, CHINA is the place to come up with this chart? We've all heard how much they prefer male children there. If its that important over there, and the chart is 99% accurate (or even close to it) why doesn't China have millions more boys than girls? You'd figure the Chinese would know enough to use their own chart to guarantee the birth of male children.

ItIsntCorrect's Gravatar There is another calendar on the web that doesn't match this one...so which one is correct? They give different results and are supposedly both the "700 year old Chinese Calendar"

cindy's Gravatar If the calendar really works, then why do chinese people abort baby girls so much?!!!

Lisa's Gravatar It was not accurate for my first pregnancy. According to the chart I was supposed to have a boy. I had a girl.

nithya's Gravatar I DNT THINK ITS TRUE.I WAS SUPPOSED TOHAVE A BOY ACCORDING TO UR CALENDER BUT I HA A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL.AM TRYING TO CONCEIVE THE SECOND TIME LETS SEE WHOS RITE THIS TIME...!!!!

Ana's Gravatar this worked for me! it is great to know that it works but how i am curious...

Marlene Mejia's Gravatar I'm trying to get pregnant with my second. I have a little girl but know what a boy. I can seem to find the Ch. calendar that uses mom's age at delivery. Can someone help me with this??? PLEASE...

tamara's Gravatar I just wanted to say i only did thid for fun and to see reallly how acurait it is so far i have been to like 10 of the site and only one of them had were it had all 3 of my living children gender right now that one says I will be having a girl but if i were to go and put in the same information in other site it get al least 1 of my living children gender wrong and say i am haveing a boy this time so i will be back on in 10 week to tell you but so far it really is 50 50
so congradlation to everyone ,,,,

Jess's Gravatar There are 2 calendars out there. One is for the mothers age at conception and the other is mothers age at birth. Both calendars are right for me since either age with the month gave me a girl. The most accurate for my friends and family was the one with the conception age. The birth age was wrong for many.

shenaas's Gravatar i have a baby girl on april 2007,i want to have another baby boy.when the right age and how do i used the chinese calendar to find out the gender of the child.

Kim Howard's Gravatar 100% accurate with my three. just make sure you have have the correct age you were in the month you concieved.

Jen's Gravatar How do use this chart? I would like to have a boy.

Amy's Gravatar It was 0 for 2 for me. I am pg with #3, so I suspect it too will be the opposite of what it says.

aaa's Gravatar it was right for my first which was a girl, now im pregnant again and saids its a boy, i will wait and see if it is true, but i dont have much faith on it anyways i just do it for entertainment!!!

stephanie's Gravatar im sure that chinese calendar is not right 100%, just only 50% bec mother age 20 and concieved of months in march it was said GIRL, while i pregancy and birth its BOY!!!! its confused to me this chinese calendar was wrong.... i got my first beautiful son now, next second trying baby girl..i have reaserch about the wivie tale was correct bec my partner has lots of drink of fizzy, cola and chips happen had first son!!! now trying both of us eating lots of fish and veggie hope get GIRL!!

Ashton's Gravatar It was right for my first son and I am using it as a guide to conceive a girl next time. It just gives me hope for a girl!

kira's Gravatar Wow 100% accurate for my 1 child!

shanthi's Gravatar Hi,
my Dob is 23/01/1984 and last menstural cycle was on 24/4/2008.
i am conceive now,
wat would be my babys gender?

Sunila's Gravatar 100% (1 0f 1). I had a boy conceived in that one month in between two months each side where it said it would be a girl. Of course, I didn't plan for it - only checked the calender after my son was born and all the ones I checked said it was supposed to be a boy. So, quite accurate on that one :-)

Twanette's Gravatar 100% correct for my 3 children, as well as all my friend's and family's children! How can this be so correct and yet so "unscientific"?

natasha's Gravatar 100% correct! I have been trying to have a little girl for 5 yrs now and found out yesterday that im getting my baby girl

brandi close's Gravatar I wanted to know if you are supposed to use your lunar age (I add two years) or use the calender as it is? I've heard both. The coming months we want to try conflict each other for my age and my lunar age.

brandi's Gravatar I checked all 3 of my kids as the calender is using my Georgian age (the age I really am) and it was 2 right 1 wrong. Then I checked using my Lunar age (I add 2 years) and all 3 were right. The only thing that is confusing to me is when I go up a year. On my birthday or in February? My birthday is Nov. 8th 1976. I would love if people would check to see which way is more accurate. Please post your results. A website to get your lunar age is babyhopes.com/articles/chinese-birth-chart.htm
Thanks!!!

brandi's Gravatar Can you let me know what charts you used as well? I have 15 and they are all right for the boys I already have, but now I want a girl and they are all different. It's almost 50/50. Help!!

megha's Gravatar I have gone through these comments and so i want an advise from those peoples.. I am 25.. (jan4th) how to calculate using this birth calendar? is it 1) locate the age the mother will be when she gives birth and the month the child was conceived. or 2) locate the age the mother when she conceived and the month the child was conceived. If i want to get pregnent in oct, what is the age i shud select, 25 or 26???

megha's Gravatar so.....which one is correct??? the month in which the child was conceived, and the age of the mother at CONCEPTION (OR) the month in which the child was conceived, and the age of the mother at DELIVERY??????????PLEASE POST UR SUGGESTION.

Kira's Gravatar It would be... How old the mother was when she conceived. So if you conceived in Oct, you would choose how old you were in OCT.

brandi's Gravatar It is the month of conception, but you need to use your lunar age. It is usually a year or two older than your Georgian age (real age). Go to babyhopes.com/articles/chinese-birth-chart.htm to figure your lunar age. A good birth chart is webwomb.com. The one at babyhopes wasn't as accurate for me.

Rosie's Gravatar Well I checked when I had my sons on this calendar and it was accurate. And I have all boys. Now I am pregnant and it saying a girl. Who knows on this one.

anil's Gravatar its spot on for all people in my family....thou i still believe that it shud b left on to God...and dis chart shud b considered for fun purpose only

anil's Gravatar use chart at http://www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/Charts/BabyG...

there are different charts avilable....the chart on above address is the actual replica of the chart that was found in china

Toni Lehman's Gravatar This calendar was accurate for both my daughters and 4 grandchildren. I tried it for 11 of my other family members and it has been correct every time

gurd's Gravatar It was right for my first two children, both being girls. And its predicting a third girl with this pregnancy. We'll just have to wait and see ;)

Ros's Gravatar I was wron for me . I am trying to have a boy My DOB 09/27/1976 can anybody tell me which month will be good for a boy after 2009 octobet?

Ros's Gravatar How i can use chneese calander, i want a boy, which calander will be good pls send me one

Sowjanya's Gravatar My DOB is March 6 1984. Please tell me now what is my age. My last LMP date is Nov 23 2008. Please let me know boy or girl along with my age and also how to calculate chinese checker.

krishnaveni's Gravatar my dateofbitrh is nov 6 1982 and my LMP is 27 jan 2009 and i had a doubt how to check the calender that is should i take my completed age 26 or should i add one year to that and see please tell me whether i will have boy or girl

priya's Gravatar my LMP is Feb 26, and i am confused to calculate the gender, whether i used my LMP or my conception month my conception month is march. So i confused of checking girl or boy! Anyone help me out of these...

kalu anthonia's Gravatar i was born on the the 14th of august 1972. so when can i concewive for a boy. as per the remaining months of the year that i can get pregnant for a boy. Thanks a lot.

Melissa's Gravatar Wrong for my daughter, which it predicted to be a boy... we'll see for #2. Predicts a girl (maybe, for me, this means boy!)

mama to be's Gravatar ok so i will be 2 months shy of 18 when i have my baby. this calendar does not technically work for me unless i use 18 and then it says im having a boy

Jennifer's Gravatar worked for me on all my kids and my friends kids the best one to use in on the chinagold website we first had a boy and used it to have a girl second time around and sure enough we had a girl tried it the third time around wanting either or and it said girl i will find out in 2 weeks if its right but it hasnt failed on the 20 times we tested it

Erinn's Gravatar Every person that I tested was wrong.... I think it's honestly just luck of the draw...

Jennifer's Gravatar Just an update from 8-7-09 i had an ultrasound down on sept 1st and the calendar is right on i am having another girl .the calendar will only be 100% accurate if you use your chinese LUNAR AGE AT TIME OF CONCEPTION that why i choose the calendar on Chinagold.com you type in the dates and it will figure out your lunar age and i tell you it will not be wrong on the sex of your child Good Luck and Give it a Try

Alyssia's Gravatar was right for my son now hoping its right this time
and i get a girl

maggie's Gravatar My dob is 22nd March 1978, I have a two years old baby girl, now which are the months for me to conceive
for a boy! I want a boy now..
Please suggest
