Chinese Birth Calendar Accuracy Test

Off Topic. Let's have a little fun. I'm not one to believe in these things, but check out the Chinese Birth Calendar. It's said to be 99% accurate in predicting the gender of your child. It was correct for my daughter and my wife says it's correct for every one that she tested with it. So tell me - is it correct for your children?

Comments
It was 75% accurate for me. 3 out of 4. At first I thought it was 0 out of 4 but then realized it wants the month the baby was conceived.

33% (2 for 6).

Amazing. I blog about this and a day later I'm #3 in google for the search term 'chinese birth calendar'

I was 25 when I got pregnant in the month of January, and sure enough, I had a baby girl! I'm going to try to use the Chinese calendar with my next child in hopes of having a boy!
# Posted By Sarah | 2/6/07 6:40 PM
100% (1 of 1)!
# Posted By raht | 2/11/07 9:27 PM
every one i have tested is right on (neice, nephew, and my tow children, my brothers, and me). i am hoping it is right for the bun in my oven. i found some a little confusing, but it is really accurate if you use the chinese age and lunar chart. i can't remember which website, which makes sense because the chart was developed using those terms of measurements!
# Posted By amy | 2/22/07 6:21 PM
It worked for my boy, but some of the calendars on google say different things. One says if I am 26 and get pregnant in Feb i will have a girl and the other says i will have a boy! So I am becoming skeptacle!

There are two version of this calendar--one is 100% correct for my three children--this one uses the month of conception and the mom's age at DELIVERY. The other uses the mom's age at CONCEPTION and this is 100% wrong. I believe that this is the chart more commonly used, as evidenced by some of the above comments.

It is not correct for any of my three boys, maybe if i want a girl i need to follow this calendar and conceive when it says it will be a male!
# Posted By becky | 3/2/07 1:07 PM
Not right for my 3 boys either! Oh well, it was fun trying!
# Posted By 3boyz4me | 3/9/07 9:50 PM
This was accurate for my son and also for everyone I know who has kids. We "used" a total of 12 pregnancies. The chart was only wrong 1 time, and I don't know if it's "wrong." It said my sis would have a boy, but she actually had boy/girl fraternal twins. I used the chart that uses the month of conception and the Mom's age at DELIVERY!
# Posted By Amy | 3/29/07 11:18 AM
So not right for me. Accordinging to the calendar I should have 3 sons but I have 3 daughters!
# Posted By grace | 4/26/07 12:16 AM
It was completely 100% accurate with both of my children, 1 girl and 1 boy. I had one sister-in-law who swore by it -- she has 4 children, all conceived after consulting the Chinese calendar to find out what month to conceive a certain gender. It was right on each time -- she had girl, boy, girl, boy, exactly as planned! I have another sister-in-law who is pregnant right now that all but 1 Chinese calendar states is having a boy, yet she has had 2 ultrasounds where they said it was a girl. Either the Chinese calendar is wrong this time, or she is in for a big surprise in July!

We're having a boy this time around but it said girl. Which is cool - one of each. Enough for us!
# Posted By todd sharp | 5/2/07 4:05 PM
Wow! It worked for everyone I tried! Myself, I was 23 when I got pregnant in march...and I had a little boy!
# Posted By Kate | 5/11/07 4:00 PM
It was wrong said I was having a girl but its a boy.
# Posted By liz | 5/23/07 7:52 PM
I don't believe this calendar is accurate. It was opposite for my friend with both of her kids and it was right with my daughter, but said that my son was also supposed to be a girl. This is using age at conception. For age at delivery it is wrong for both of my kids.

i want to know what age is used for calculation i.e my wife date of birth is 23 nov 1976 .so in the year 2007 it is 31 or 30 yrs
# Posted By sekhar | 6/8/07 9:27 AM
I want to know the age which is used for calculation i.e my wife date of birth is 23 nov 1926 whether age is 30 yrs or 31
# Posted By sekhar | 6/8/07 9:28 AM
I have 4 children and it has been correct all 4 times, I am pregnant with the fifth, we'll see.....

I believe this chart is purely statistics. Nowadays with the government having details of their populations. It is very easy to rebuild this chart again.

Once in Uni. I made a small program base on this chart to predict the gender of a person. The input is your birthday and your mom's birthday. Amazingly almost 90% correct.

Obvious mistake if you got twin with different gender.
# Posted By Haw | 6/15/07 10:44 AM
NOT TRUE FOR MY 2 BOYS BUT THERES ANOTHER CHART ONLINE THAT IS CORRECT
# Posted By RIA VERGEL | 6/15/07 9:07 PM
can any one of you send me the chinese calender which need's the conception month and mom's age at delivery.
# Posted By chaitanya | 7/10/07 11:58 AM
SORRY CORRECTION! IT IS TRUE FOR MY 2 BOYS. I CALCULATED NOT BY THE MY AGE AT BIRTH BUT MY AGE AT CONCEPTION. IM HAVING MY 3RD BABY HOPING ITS A GIRL THIS TIME I WILL UPDATE THE RESULTS AFTER MY ULTRASOUND. SO EXCITED!
# Posted By RIAVERGEL | 7/17/07 1:11 AM
the chinese chart was accurate last year for all my 6 friends who were pregnant i was amazed, i already had 3 boys and was pregnant with number 4, the chart said a girl but i had a boy, i was the only one that was wrong so 6 out of 7 isn't bad, i'm pregnant again and it says girl again maybe it will be right this time!

Does anyone know what age you are supposed to use if your birthday is in the month you conceived? My birthday is July 13 and my Trying time was July 6-9. Happily, I am pregnant, yet curious as to what the Chinese Birth Chart predicts for gender. I read that if your Trying time is in the last week of a month, you should use the next month to predict the gender. However I can not find any details on what age to use if your birthday is in the same month you conceive. If your birthday is a week before you conceived, what age should you use? If I use the age I will be when I give birth, it is a different gender then if I use the age I was when the baby was conceived. I do realize that this chart is just for fun and no matter the babys gender; I really just want a healthy, happy baby. But if anyone has any thoughts or experience on this, I would love to hear it!

Cheers, Ann

this is to ann who posted on the 25/7/07. my friend just had her baby and it was a girl, she fell pregnant in the month of her birthday, which was also a girl on the chinese pregnancy calendar. i have tested the calender on myself and other friends and so far it has been correct.
# Posted By kelly | 7/30/07 11:42 PM
2 for 2! Its amazing how many people were right. I asked my neighbors! All but 1 was wrong!
# Posted By tish | 8/4/07 1:50 AM
Sorry, I meant....All but 1 was right! ;)
# Posted By tish | 8/4/07 1:52 AM
i have doubt abt this calender. when its says to compare the age and conceived month..which you will take it...? the completed age or running age.....
for ex my wife's birthday is nov 12th 1982. does it mean 25yrs or 24yrs...?
# Posted By muthuselvam | 8/28/07 4:36 AM
my friend fell pregnant after her birthday so all we did is go to that age and the month box on the calendar and went from there. it usually works on the age you are so if you have a birthday just go to that age.
# Posted By kelly | 8/28/07 5:54 AM
my friend kelly...still i don't understand..please clarify my again with an example....
# Posted By muthuselvam | 8/28/07 10:44 AM

oh my god!!!!!
I found this calender a few months ago and everybody that i test was right!!!but then i lost the web page and never found again!!!And here it is!!!i test with 6 persons and was absolute right!!Coicidende???maybe
# Posted By pat | 9/20/07 4:27 PM
2 kids, 1 wrong, 1 right...sounds like a sham to me. The odds are 50/50 each time, you get 1 right and people are convinced it works. More than 1? All the more proof. :-/

How could someone 700 years ago have made something this accurate when nobody today can do it? And of all places, CHINA is the place to come up with this chart? We've all heard how much they prefer male children there. If its that important over there, and the chart is 99% accurate (or even close to it) why doesn't China have millions more boys than girls? You'd figure the Chinese would know enough to use their own chart to guarantee the birth of male children.
# Posted By Jack | 9/24/07 7:58 PM
There is another calendar on the web that doesn't match this one...so which one is correct? They give different results and are supposedly both the "700 year old Chinese Calendar"
# Posted By ItIsntCorrect | 10/10/07 9:17 AM
If the calendar really works, then why do chinese people abort baby girls so much?!!!
# Posted By cindy | 10/12/07 8:28 PM
It was not accurate for my first pregnancy. According to the chart I was supposed to have a boy. I had a girl.
# Posted By Lisa | 11/6/07 8:17 PM
I DNT THINK ITS TRUE.I WAS SUPPOSED TOHAVE A BOY ACCORDING TO UR CALENDER BUT I HA A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL.AM TRYING TO CONCEIVE THE SECOND TIME LETS SEE WHOS RITE THIS TIME...!!!!
# Posted By nithya | 11/18/07 10:32 PM

# Posted By tamara | 1/8/08 12:16 PM
There are 2 calendars out there. One is for the mothers age at conception and the other is mothers age at birth. Both calendars are right for me since either age with the month gave me a girl. The most accurate for my friends and family was the one with the conception age. The birth age was wrong for many.

i have a baby girl on april 2007,i want to have another baby boy.when the right age and how do i used the chinese calendar to find out the gender of the child.

# Posted By Kim Howard | 2/11/08 12:03 AM
How do use this chart? I would like to have a boy.
# Posted By Jen | 3/4/08 6:17 PM
It was 0 for 2 for me. I am pg with #3, so I suspect it too will be the opposite of what it says.
# Posted By Amy | 3/13/08 5:35 PM
it was right for my first which was a girl, now im pregnant again and saids its a boy, i will wait and see if it is true, but i dont have much faith on it anyways i just do it for entertainment!!!
# Posted By aaa | 4/12/08 8:02 PM

It was right for my first son and I am using it as a guide to conceive a girl next time. It just gives me hope for a girl!
# Posted By Ashton | 5/21/08 10:11 PM
Wow 100% accurate for my 1 child!
# Posted By kira | 5/26/08 5:23 AM
Hi,
my Dob is 23/01/1984 and last menstural cycle was on 24/4/2008.
i am conceive now,
wat would be my babys gender?
# Posted By shanthi | 6/5/08 2:18 PM
100% (1 0f 1). I had a boy conceived in that one month in between two months each side where it said it would be a girl. Of course, I didn't plan for it - only checked the calender after my son was born and all the ones I checked said it was supposed to be a boy. So, quite accurate on that one :-)
# Posted By Sunila | 6/14/08 8:35 AM
100% correct for my 3 children, as well as all my friend's and family's children! How can this be so correct and yet so "unscientific"?
# Posted By Twanette | 7/7/08 10:20 AM
100% correct! I have been trying to have a little girl for 5 yrs now and found out yesterday that im getting my baby girl
# Posted By natasha | 7/16/08 11:02 AM
I wanted to know if you are supposed to use your lunar age (I add two years) or use the calender as it is? I've heard both. The coming months we want to try conflict each other for my age and my lunar age.
# Posted By brandi close | 7/19/08 3:39 AM
I checked all 3 of my kids as the calender is using my Georgian age (the age I really am) and it was 2 right 1 wrong. Then I checked using my Lunar age (I add 2 years) and all 3 were right. The only thing that is confusing to me is when I go up a year. On my birthday or in February? My birthday is Nov. 8th 1976. I would love if people would check to see which way is more accurate. Please post your results. A website to get your lunar age is babyhopes.com/articles/chinese-birth-chart.htm
Thanks!!!
# Posted By brandi | 7/22/08 12:09 AM
Can you let me know what charts you used as well? I have 15 and they are all right for the boys I already have, but now I want a girl and they are all different. It's almost 50/50. Help!!
