SlideSix Getting Some Buzz - Try Now Without Registering

SlideSix is slowly gaining traction and some changes were pushed last Friday that should help in getting the site some more market share in the vast online presentation sharing community.

First and foremost you can now upload a presentation to SlideSix without registering for a new account. I have been contemplating this idea for quite a while. I realize that this feature creates the potential for a ton of 'Test' type posts and it could dilute the content of SlideSix, but I'm confident that once people get a feel for the process they will be happy to register. I encourage you to give it a try (please use an actual presentation and not a test). Once you see the conversion, sign up for a new account and enjoy all the benefits of being a registered member (adding audio/video, tagging, groups, etc). Please note that the uploader that is used on SlideSix is broken for folks using the beta version of Flash Player 10 due to some new security policies put in place in that version. I am working on a temporary fix and the plugin used behind the scenes is also in the process of being updated with a permanent fix to address this issue.

Most of the other changes have been UI related. I've started converting some of the forms on the site to be less cluttered and have a cleaner appearance. I decided to use a pretty cool jQuery plugin called jGrowl. jGrowl is "a jQuery plugin that raises unobtrusive messages within the browser, similar to the way that OS X's Growl Framework works." It is a slick plugin - plus very easy to use.

Finally, the home page has been updated with some buzz that SlideSix has been generating around the web. In addition to these quotes, SlideSix is starting to be mentioned on several sites and wikis in the same breath as some of the real powerhouses in the online presentation arena. I'm hoping this is just the start of a bright future for the site.
