Liz and company are looking for folks to complete a quick survey about the future of the CFUnited conference. I've been to the last 2 conferences and I think of all the CF conferences I'm keeping this one on my must attend list.

I am a bit concerned that some folks have expressed interest in moving the conference outside of the metro DC area. Last year was the first time the conference was held in the city (as far as I know) and I absolutely loved being in the heart of everything.

Make sure you make your voice heard (and vote to keep the conference in DC)!

Sam Farmer's Gravatar I loved having it in DC as well.

Steven Reed's Gravatar I would have to agree that having it DC was even better than Bethesda. But hey, I'm from the MD suburbs so call be biased.

jeff's Gravatar I say move it. Some people only get the opportunity for a single professional development conference per year. I am one of those people, and I'd much rather combine the conference with an variety of interesting destinations. DC is definitely interesting, but I've been there a dozen times. I know it's very convenient for those of you in the DC area, but I'm from Idaho, and making the long trip there and back (usually the week of the 4th of July, which is a horrible time to travel) makes for two very long travel days.

In spite of the great speakers at CFUnited, these other considerations have pushed me toward other conference in more interesting locations (MAX, AnEventApart, etc).

todd sharp's Gravatar @jeff:

Where would you like to move it to? I could be wrong, but I think the organizers were mainly referrring to "metro dc vs. dc suburbs like rockville, etc md"... I'd much rather be in metro DC then rockville!!

The only change I'd be open to is a CF conference in Las Vegas. That would be fantastic!!

John Wise's Gravatar I'd rather have it move to Baltimore so that I don't have to commute to DC every day :)

bob's Gravatar I think Baltimore would be a great venue!
