Why You Need Fusion Authority Quarterly Update
The ColdFusion 8 Special Edition of Fusion Authority Quarterly Update is now shipping. I mention this not only because my mug is on the cover but because I've been meaning to post some commentary on the publication here on my blog.
I finally picked up a subscription last year at CFUnited. I received a handfull of back issues as part of the subscription and immediately started reading through them when I got home from the conference. I hate to admit it, but I was a bit surprised at the quality of the publication. Not that I expected it to be of poor quality - but it simply exceeded any preconceived notion I had prior to reading it.
You may ask yourself: "Why do I need to subscribe to a magazine - let alone a quarterly magazine - when I follow all the ColdFusion blogs and community news"? Well the answer is simple - you'll find articles/content/tips in FAQU that you'll find nowhere else. In depth tutorials, extended articles on theory and design practices and direct insight from the most respected ColdFusion developers in the world. The articles in FAQU give you details and background that you'll rarely find in a blog post.
Having experienced the process first hand I can also tell you that the editorial staff do an absolutely top notch job of working with the contributors to ensure clear, concise, well written articles. Even the smallest snippet type articles are scrutinized to ensure an unrivaled product from cover to cover.
If you're serious about becoming a better ColdFusion developer then you need to get a subscription to FAQU. You will not regret it.

The articles are in-depth and worthwhile for developers looking to get serious with CF or expand what they already know. The piece on Transfer was incredibly detailed an helpful...unlike the puff pieces that so often filled CFDJ. It really is a great resource and worth the money.
Thanks for calling this out, Todd.
My work has just subscribed and we got 2 issues, both of which are outstanding.
Great job Michael and team :)
And even if I read the CF blogs it is still a must at least for me.
@Adam: Great point sir...
